Color My World DSC #84

Hello!!  Can you believe it is the last Thursday of May already?  Time again for another DOstamper STARS Thursday Challenge.  This week is a Color challenge.  I love how we mix up the challenges each week.  It is fun to visit the blogs of my fellow STARS and see how everyone interpreted the challenge differently.

For my card, I chose the new Work of Art stamp set from the upcoming 2014-15 Stampin' Up Catalog.  My older son calls the larger stamp below the rainbow stamp and I think that is where I got the idea to layer the colors like a rainbow.

The sentiment is from the new Hello There hostess stamp set.  I added a little bling and tied a bow with the white baker's twine.  Sweet and simple card.

Thanks for stopping by.  Check out my fellow STARS for more inspiration.

Paper:  Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Strawberry Slush
Ink:  Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, Jet Black Stazon Ink

DOstamper STARS #083

Happy Thursday.  Today is another DOstamper STARS Challenge. This week is the photo-inspired Home Sweet Home challenge.  Aren't the cupcakes in this photo too cute?

I love the polka dots in the photo.  I looked through my Designer Series Paper and didn't really have the right color or style - so I made my own.  I combined the circle stamp in the Geometrical stamp set with the "watercolor" circle stamp in the NEW Work of Art stamp set - and voila - polka dot paper.

The sentiment is also from the Work of Art stamp set.  It is great because the words "JUST FOR" and "You" are actually 2 separate stamps.  You can use your ink pads for stamping.

In With the New

Happy Thursday!!  It is time for another DOstamper STARS Challenge.  This week we have a Sketch Pad challenge.  After saying good-bye to Midnight Muse last week, this week I am previewing one of the new Stampin' Up In Colors for 2014-2016 - Blackberry Bliss.

Blackberry Bliss is a true, rich purple color.  I think it is a very elegant color.  I stamped the large flower from the Polka Dot Pieces stamp set in Blackberry Bliss.  The sentiment is from the (retiring) Lacy & Lovely stamp set.

This card also features the new Moonlight Designer Series Paper and Blackberry Bliss 3/8" Satin Stitched Ribbon.

Color My World Blue

Happy Thursday.  It is time for another DOstamper STARS Challenge.  This week is a color challenge.  I am feeling a little "blue" about this challenge, as my most favorite blue color - Midnight Muse will be retiring soon.  Midnight Muse is one of Stampin' Up's In Colors for 2012-14.  I am glad we got to play together today.

The colors read very nautical to me.  I thought this sketch from Seize the Sketch seemed like the perfect match.  I rotated the sketch, but I think the essence of the sketch is there.

The flags are stamped with the Banner Blast stamp set using Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry ink.  They are punched with the Banner Punch.  If you don't have the Banner Blast stamp set from Sale-a-bration, you can use any stamps that have an all-over design.  Just stamp the image on a scrap of paper and then punch it out.

I made two versions of the card, one with a Midnight Muse card base and one with Cherry Cobbler. Since the fish was a smaller image, I added some Cherry Cobbler Candy Dots to the upper corner to balance things out.

Here they are together!

Home Sweet Home #80

Happy May Day!!  I can't believe it is the first of May already.  It has been so gray and rainy here in Wisconsin.  It doesn't really feel like spring yet.  It could be worse - we could be getting snow like they are farther north.

I was inspired by the colors and the circle/polka dot shapes in this photo.  I love the Timeless Talk stamp set and it made an appearance here again today.  I donate a lot of my cards to Operation Write Home, so I am always on the hunt for stamps that are gender neutral or masculine.

The sentiment is from the Paper Pumpkin Welcome Kit.
